Picigin is collective game which can be played on ground, shallow water or sea not deeper than waist. The number of players is not strictly determined although the best results are gained by 3 to 5 players. Regularly only one stroke of one hand palm is used to throw the ball to other players. The ball is 5-15 cm in diameter and weights about 70-200 g. The aim of the game is to keep the ball in air as much as possible. Although it originally came from Split, picigin has been played for decades along the Croatian Adriatic coast. During years particular local styles has developed in different places. See articles on picigin at wikipedia.org and hr.wikipedia.org. Since 1999 this site tries to present and popularize this new sport discipline.
